Ghani’s experience in the fitness industry dates back all the way to 1998, where he started off as a fitness trainer, teaching freestyle step and aerobics hi-lo, which were popular exercise classes back in those days. His accumulated experience over 2 decades, with constant upgrading of fitness certifications, gained him much popularity across the industry, and he has not looked back ever since. Ghani taught in and ran studios and gyms for clubs and organisations like Takashimaya Fitness Club, Planet Fitness, Amore Fitness, Chinese Swimming Club, Singapore Sports Council, People’s Association and for major corporations eg. GIC, SPH just to name a few.
A fitness class with Ghani never ceases to amaze and satisfy his participants as he has this innate ability to choreograph on the spot. Many of his participants have followed him for years yet they never tire of his choice of music and/or movements as his creativity stems from his passion and desire to instil in each of his participants the benefits of exercising right.
Ghani is humble yet generous in his mannerism and this is very much reflected in the way he conducts his classes. He would personally and patiently guide and correct his participants, especially when he notices a wrong posture or step, and he always takes special care of his newcomers. He creates a distinctively "Ghani" style of teaching which makes his group exercise classes so fun and enjoyable that no one actually realises that s/he is burning lots of calories in the process! In fact, many of his participants have been very much motivated and personally mentored by him, and in the process, they have also become certified instructors themselves.
Ghani is always up for new challenges and he has since created a new programme GruveXT, which was launched successfully at a fitness retreat in Phuket recently.
